The widget isn't updating

The new Hukamnama is announced each morning from Sri Harmandir Sahib. The widget picks it up on its next refresh, so it can show yesterday's for a little while.

iPhone

iPhone refreshes the widget every few hours, and iOS decides the exact moment. Low Power Mode makes refreshes less frequent. Opening Simran brings it up to date.

Android

Android refreshes the widget about every hour and when you unlock your phone. Battery savers can stop that:

  1. Open your phone's Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Choose Simran, then Battery.
  3. Choose Unrestricted.

The exact names differ a little between phone makers.

Changed the language and nothing happened?

Open Simran once so it can pass the change to the widget, or remove the widget and add it again.
